Late permanent pacemaker infection is an infrequent complication usually associated to catheter infection. The development of complications such as infectious endocarditis, pulmonary or systemic infectious embolism and sepsis involve high morbidity and mortality. We present a case report of a 69 year old male patient with a three years ago implanted pacemaker, who developed an infectious complication due to an uncommon association of Staphylococcus and Candida.
