Abstract

Congenital coronary fistulae are rare, even more when they are multiple and draining into the left ventricle. Its association with asymmetric hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is exceptional. We report two cases with multiple coronary fistulae, draining in the left and right ventricles, associated with non obstructive septal hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. A common genetic disorder is postulated as the cause of both anomalies with the persistence of the embryonic pattern of the coronary circulation. The late appearance of angina in both patients was assumed to be related to coronary stea:l aggravated by the anatomic and functional effects of the hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
