Duplicate publication policy
Duplicate publication is one that overlaps substantially with a previous publication. The Argentine Journal of Cardiology will not accept an article whose content has been published in whole or in part, or whose content has been previously presented or accepted for publication elsewhere, except in special cases (see Admissible secondary publication).
When the author submits a manuscript, a disclosure of all the previous presentations and reports that might be considered duplicate publications of the same or a similar work should be made to the editor. Authors who attempt a duplicate publication, without previous notification and without the Editorial Committee consent, will be rejected.
If the article has already been published, the Editorial Committee will publish a notification about the characteristics of the duplicate material, even without the authors’ approval. Preliminary disclosure in public or scientific information media of all or part of an article that has been accepted but has not been published yet, will not be accepted (except in special cases).
Admissible secondary publication: A secondary publication of the same article is admissible in the same or another language after the editors have approved the publication.
A footnote of the second version will inform readers, peers and documenting agencies that the article has been previously published in whole or in part and its full reference should be cited.
