Human Subjects and Animal Rights in scientific research policy
When clinical studies are performed in human subjects, the procedures carried out should be explicitly in accordance with the ethical standard of the responsible institutional or regional committee in human research and with the Declaration of Helsinki (World Medical Association. World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki: Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects. JAMA. 2013;310 :2191–2194. doi:10.1001/jama.2013.281053), complemented with the Declaration of Taipei concerning ethical considerations on health databases and biobanks https://www.wma.net/es/que-hacemos/etica-medica/declaracion-de-taipei/
All research studies including experimental animals should be carried out following the indication of the “Guide for the care and use of laboratory animals” (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK54050/) of the United States National Academy of Sciences and updated by the American Physiological Society (APS) (http://www.the-aps.org/committees/animal/index.htm
