Peer Review Policy
The peer review process developed by the Argentine Journal of Cardiology is double blind, in which neither the reviewers know the authors’ data nor the authors the reviewers’ data.
The editor-in-chief of the Journal assigns each work to be read by a member of the Editorial Committee, who in a short term should return it with the notification on whether its publication is of interest. If the response is affirmative, the article, without the name of the authors nor of the center/s is submitted to 2 external reviewers, expert in the subject, and to a biostatistician, who in the term of 14 days should make their analyses and comments. The work can be rejected or approved by both reviewers; if the article needs changes the reviewers’ comments will be sent to the responsible author for correction. The reviewer’s written comments will be anonymous. The authors should submit the corrected version, and a letter with the detailed responses to the reviewers’ comments. Once these corrections are received, they will be again submitted to the reviewers for approval. If they are approved, the process for publication starts (style correction, English correction, galley proof, etc.)
The Argentine Journal of Cardiology adheres to the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE, www.icmje.org ) on Corrections, Retractions and Republications and control Versions, and is willing to publish, corrections, clarifications and retractions whenever necessary depending on whether the errors have been intentional (e.g. plagiarism) or unintentional (e.g. methodological).
Appeal policy: If the author or co-authors consider that the rejection of their manuscript is not duly justified, they should send an e-mail to the Editorial Committee, detailing the foundation and reasons of the petition.
