Abstract

The presence of incessant supraventricular tachycardia can induce a secondary cardiomyopathy. This problem can be solved with catheter ablation of the arrhythmia by radiofrequency. This report presentes the case of a three year old child with atypical atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia and myocardiopathy, who has been submitted to ablation of the slow pathway. The procedure was successful, with total recovery of ventricular function and without recurrence of the tachyarrhythmia.
